What are Nintendo NDS ROMS?
NDS ROMS are games for the DS that you can run from a micro-SD memory card inserted into an adapter in your DS games unit. The adapter is the same size and shape of a normal DS Games cartridge but it has a slot where you can insert a little micro-SD memory card. As this device allows the DS security to be essentially bypassed it has been made illegal in July 2010 by a London High Court. However, the device can still be purchased outside the UK.

Micro-SD Card
The Nintendo NDS ROM games are download as NDS ROM files and then transferred onto a micro-SD card in the same way as a photo transfer from your memory card in your camera onto your PC. The micro-sd card offers a drag and drop type interface.

Micro-SD Card Adapter(s)
A micro-sd disk adapter may be required in which the micro-sd card can be inserted, the SD card is then connected to a PC. If you don't have one you will need a USB card reader to plug in the SD card into.

Alternatively, a direct USB adapter for your Micro-SD card can be obtained these days like the one pictured here. This will enable a micro-sd card to be connected to a PC using the USB port without having to use a Micro SD Card Adapter.

Where do I get Nintendo NDS ROMs from?
Search the internet for "Free Nintendo DS NDS ROMs" or start at the three web sites listed below where you can download some Nintendo DS NDS Rom games for free. ( I apologise in advance for the gawdybawdy ads on these sites, ain't nothin' for free right ):

Compressed Files zip/gzip/rar/tar
 It may be noticed that some, if not all, of the Nintendo NDS Rom files are either in zip or rar format (filename.rar or filename.zip). A zip or rar file is simply a compressed file to enable faster downloads because in their raw format they can be huge!
After the Nintendo NDS Rom files have been downloaded to a PC they will need to be uncompressed. Tar/GZip/rar files are common compressed file types.
If zip software is not available the link below is a FREE zip software that will also handle rar and other compressed file formats with the exception of ACE files.
